Marettimo is located on the west coast of Sicily and the most isolated of the three Egadi Islands. Its crystalline waters are an important part of the Egadi Island Marine Reserve, one of the largest in Europe. Not only is the island renowned for its marine wildlife, but also for its residents, rich history and excellent food.
As part of the Great Italian Escape series of 2005, Jamie Oliver spent a few days on Marettimo learning the secrets of the island’s cuisine.
