Isola di San Pietro
Current location: Isola di San Pietro in south-west Sardinia.
San Pietro is a mountainous island about 15km (around 9mi) long and 11km (around 6mi) wide. The island is named after St. Peter, who, according to legend, was marooned here. Prior to that name, the Romans called it, Accipitrum, because of the falcons that nest on the island.
